Just wanted to share something with the group. I made a purchase from Quest Outfitters for making two poles. I purchased 4 26" aluminum poles (.490" diameter per their recommendation, #4155 from their catalog), 6 inserts (#4141), 4 encaps (4123) and 3 yards of shock cord. I will cut the poles into 12" lengths (four for each pole), glue inserts into three of them and then join them with shock cord through the end caps. Total for everything, including shipping, is $41.56. Great price for two 48" long poles that break down to 12" for easy packing.

revcpneat idea. I use trekking poles but i was thinking of a poles i could use for the 2p(ordered) so i could still hike after setting up base camp. SMD has some 3.2oz poles for their tents(i'm replacing my skyscape) i was thinking about trying. They are 49inches vs your 48, do you think that would be an issue? https://www.sixmoondesigns.com/collections/shelter-accessories/products/pole-49-aluminum
grumk1n49 is a bit long. TarpTent sells a 48" one that would be a bit better: https://www.tarptent.com/product/vertical-support-pole/
