Damn, that thing looks amazing and actually not useless like most electric scooters.
But there will be a case of one hell of a buyer's remorse if they'll release M5 soon afterwards. I wish we'd knew possible M5 specs so we could've compared these two...

The M5 is different from M3, so it's not a direct update. We will continue to sell M3 since it's for the mainstream and for riding in most conditions.
M5 will have the rear suspension, and more than 2-3 lbs heavier. It will also be at least $200-250 more expensive. It is still under testing and we hadn't set the release date yet.
M3 can already handle most road conditions. M5 is more catering for some extremely picky riders that have to go thru rough surfaces along their daily routes. You would have to consider the tradeoffs between the even smoother ride and weight/cost.
M3 on MassDrop is the best deal right now.
