Will the clamp work on glass desktops ?

Acidtrip69You may want to grab a couple pieces of scrap wood or some cloth to put between the class and clamp surfaces. That's what I'll be doing with my glass desk at least; don't want the glass getting all scratched up. My glass is also 1/2 inch thick, so I don't think stability will be an issue.

heat_death51My desk is ~1/4 inch tempered glass. If I add additional support on the bottom so that the glass is not bearing the weight, do you think the glass will hold up?

Peaches491Could you attach it directly to the frame?

Peaches491I did this with my desk and completely shattered the glass. Granted, the stand was holding three monitors, I still wouldn't recommend it.

ritz2theRUBBLEYou had one stand holding three monitors? That sounds like the root cause to me.

Peaches491Yea, it was a triple monitor stand: http://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-Monitor-Desktop-Supports-002-0019/dp/B006JG7G2E/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1408043214&sr=8-6&keywords=triple+monitor+stand
Not my brightest moment. Though it's a wood top desk with a glass cover/top so I thought it would have enough support.
