Hi guys. I own two of these monitor arms and a lot of you seem to have measurement questions and all that. Ask whatever here in the discussion and I'll try and sort you out. The documentation/reviews on these things are kind of scarce.
The boxes these arms come in are big and heavy as hell, I'm assuming that's why the shipping is crazy for those of you outside the US. I bought my freedom arms at another seller for not much more than Massdrop's current price. It's possible they might offer you a better shipping rate.
THVRSDAYWhat is the maximum height from the desk surface to the middle of the vesa mount? When the arm is at its maximum height, how far forward can it extend from the middle of the pole to the back of the vesa mount?
Edit: And how far from the back of the desk to the middle of the mounting pole?
Thanks for taking the time to answer questions!
CharlesCharles:
The maximum height from the desk surface to the middle of the VESA mount is 19.5". The photo is a depiction of the mounts at that highest possible position from the desk.
The maximum reach from the edge of the desk to the VESA mount is 25".
The distance from the edge of the desk to the middle of the mounting pole is 1".
RashkhThe desk is completely custom, I had it built by a local carpenter. I slap the monitors out of the way and do large sketches or small studio photography on it.
YangQiThanks! It's always a work in progress. My main goal with the setup is to get a tower small enough to fit between the two monitors, it should eliminate all the gross cabling I have going on.
joneziejonezThe LG 29UM65 weighs 11.5 pounds and these are rated for a maximum of 17.5 pounds. This arm would work just fine with that monitor, especially a single display setup.
