I added another DE razor to my list since my last comment so I thought I would reconfirm that this is the best of the razors I own. So the list is the Parker 29L, Merkur 34C, Ikon with open and solid safety bar from Massdrop and the Feather listed here. The Ikon is nice but not nearly as smooth and comfortable as the Feather. The Feather AS-D2 combined with a less-sharp blade like the Derby blades results in a shave that feels like sliding a greased spoon across your face rather than a blade. And yet it still does the job and shaves me as close as the others. No irritation, even after many, many passes. This is a pricey razor but worth it.
