I have tried one on multiple times as I've been wanting one of these for awhile. They do fit slightly large maybe by a 1/2 size but that is due to the type of jacket it is. I'm 5'11" 170 lbs and ordered a Medium. If you want to be able to wear lots of layers under it I would have gone with the large for my size though the jacket is very warm and unless you live where it's very cold you shouldn't need to many heavy layers if any underneath it. So in short my recommendation would be order true to size or possibly down one if you want a slim fit. True to size or up one if you want baggy or lots of layers. Here is a link to Fjallraven's sizing guide: http://www.fjallraven.us/pages/size-guides most of the sizing on this chart is in metric and will only give you an idea. From personal experience I would say that the medium is about a 42" chest and the large a 44".
