Massdrop's shipping system is really odd. Supposedly this order dropped on March 8. Email with tracking number arrived a day later. As of March 14 the item is showing in USPS system as "electronically notified by the shipper ... to expect your package for mailing. This does not indicate receipt by the USPS or the actual mailing date. Delivery status information will be provided if/when available." As of March 15 no delivery date is yet available. So essentially Massdrop notified me 1 week ago that the item is shipping, but as of yet it's not even been picked up by USPS, which only received notification that it would be shipped yesterday.
It would be much more useful to have Massdrop provide a realistic and accurate ship date AND arrival date for each item sold, which would allow me to anticipate when the product would actually be here. This is something of a problem - there's another current drop that I'm considering; based on the expected shipping date it might arrive while I'm out of town. Or, given Massdrop's SOP for shipping, it might arrive a week or two after I return. Who knows?
Massdrop just might want to consider hiring a logistics specialist.
