Does anyone know which movement this watch uses? I assume Chinese Seagull or similar, but I couldn't see any validation anywhere.
flaviovFrom the design of the balance wheel, position and design of the mainspring, and the oscillating weight rotor, I'd hazard to guess it's a Hangzhou 2350. This is a magic lever design automatic with a pretty sensible design and a multifunction complication. Quite capable.

leopadronI don't think there is anything wrong with this movement. I have this "movement make" in another Ingersoll watch, the only thing it lacks is power reserve,it's lucky to reach over 30 hours; but I am not sure it is not a Seagull TY2869 as that movement definitely runs the day/night, or am/pm complication. Some sites say Hangzhou and other Seagull!!! Not that it really matters at this price point. But not a big issue as I run 14 winders at present!! The only thing stopping me from buying this watch is purely size, 46 x 17 is a little large for me, I have Ingersoll's at 44 x 15 and they are starting to look disproportionate on my average wrist, but it is personal preference. even though it is Aviator/pilot style, and the grey in particular is a nice color combo. The quality on all the Ingersoll's I have bought has been quite high.Yes I have sold on half of them ,but not because of the quality. For $99 if it fits!! is really good value. Also don't forget just because it is a Chinese movement is not all bad; they have been making mechanical movements at least as long as anyone else. You don't have to spend thousands on all your watches , I have some in excess of $1500 usd . on sale mind you!! and my cheapest, an Ingersoll Scovill Chrono at $74 usd. from here on Drop: I like them both. Don't" bow" to the watch snobs!!!!! They are just that "Snobs"!! Some of them have one or two older "Rolex"type of watches , or the like; and flatter themselves as collectors. Some have lots of dollars and are not the usual "Budget" watch haters; and some don't have any expensive watches at all, they just jump on the bandwagon!! Some are very technically experienced and one cannot argue with their technical observations, but ,If you like it ,buy it. I think a lot of the guys who criticize nearly all of the "Drops", have nothing better to do; I criticize many that I don't like! But also remember choice is very personal. There are some collectors with some great watches ,then you hear them praise "Shield' or "Dufa" or "Trifaglio" "CCCP"etc. The discussion board is an invaluable tool to help you make a decision on if to buy or not? But using it as a "bouncing board" is the only way to use it,or you will never buy anything!! There are a lot of guys with many relevant points, but they may not be pertinent to you, especially at $99 usd. Shame I can't shrink this watch in the wash, like some of my clothes or it would be a good budget buy!!
