Initial impressions are superb - instructions suck - Here's the deets.
I got the rose gold finish and love it. The dial is beautiful. My one singular gripe with the watch is that the second hand doesn't QUITE land top dead center at 12. But otherwise, I really dig this thing. The complications all play nicely with one another and it's got just the right vintage charm. Would I have preferred an automatic? Yes. But for what I paid, this is definitely going to be a keeper. Very classy/dressy for someone who likes complications. The size is perfect on my tiny baby wrists, coming in as "large but not huge". A bit thick, but not annoyingly so. A bit heavy, but it also kinda fits. The clasp works fine, but I don't love the butterfly style on leather bands, I find it a bit awkward to put on and thick at the bottom. I can definitely work with it, but if it ever dies, a normal leather band is going on it. The leather is really nice. Not the absolute best, but also much nicer than a watch at this price point. I normally don't like the crocodile leather imprint style, but on this, it fits. No lume other than the hour/minute/second, but I'm not wearing this on duty anyways. The box it comes in is outrageously nice for the price, the packaging presentation is much nicer than either of my $500 watches was. Wooden box, metal "card" with the authenticity certificate, a THICK manual that's totally crap (it's got like fifteen languages but no actual walkthrough on how to set up this complication-heavy movement) and a beautiful watch. The only gripe I have is the manual does NOT tell you how to set the watch and you have to take the case back off to figure out the movement because it isn't listed on the website. The manual tells you what each button does, not how they work. So, the movement is a Ronda 706.B Swiss 5 jewel (that wasn't listed on the drop at the time, but it now is). Here's a link to the manual https://www.ronda.ch/fileadmin/user_upload/Products/TA_BA/ba/7XX/BA_706-1.706-3.706B_e.pdf The whole thing has to be set up in a specific way, starting with the moon phase at the nearest full moon, then setting the day, then the week, then the date of that full moon, and then just using the crown to freewheel the watch until the current day. Not elegant, but since it is quartz, shouldn't need doing very often. Overall though, very classy, classic looking thing that I will likely wear a whole lot on my days off.

HoneybadgersHi Honeybadgers, I just recently purchased one of these. I thank you for the link for setting the Ronda 706.B movement but it’s convoluted and hard to understand. I’m not stupid, I promise 😉, but I can get nowhere even with the Ronda instructions. For starters, it says to pull out the crown to the second stop to halt timekeeping. Then it says to rotate past midnight until the full moon is centered in the display. To center the full moon this way takes so many turns and so long, my fingers hurt! 😩 Can you explain in simple layman’s terms how you set your watch? This is the most complicated watch to set I’ve ever come across. Thanks much!

lovelivingruralYou do need to spin it by hand until you have the full moon (it's obnoxious but you only ever have to do it once, really) then set the rest of the watch to whatever day, date, and month that corresponds to the most recent full moon prior to the current day. then just spin the hours until you get to the day we're on. Again, it's an annoying initial setup, but once it's done, it's done.

HoneybadgersThanks so much for your reply! Yes, it’s obnoxious! I’ll try it again, (and get sore fingers again! 😂), following your instructions and report back. Thanks again!

HoneybadgersHoneybadgers, You’ve been so kind to try and help me and I hate to keep bugging you. I finally got the moon centered. The watch is now at 12:00 PM, (noon). The last full moon here was July 5th. Could you please walk me through what to do next remembering the “blocking period” for pusher A is between 10 PM-5 AM and the “blocking period” for pusher D is Saturday 10 PM thru Monday PM or noon. Could you do a step #1, step #2, step #3, etc.? I still can figure out what the hand with the forked end is all about. 🤪 If you would do this for me I would even be willing to pay you for your time! Thanks so much!

lovelivingruralThe directions are pretty much how it's supposed to work. Once you have the moon set to full, you set the day of the week. Do this by turning the time back and forth between 1am and 10pm to make the day click over until it's set to the day of the week that coincided with the last full moon, which was July 5th, a Wednesday. After that, you set the date. Do that by turning the crown until the time is 6AM. Then use the pusher A (the bottom one) to set the date to the 5th. Then use the pusher D (the upper one) to set the week hand to the first week of July You should now have the watch set to the week, moon phase, day, and date set to July 5th. From there, you need to just pull the crown and spin the hours until you hit the current day and time, and the watch should be good to go. Just make sure you replace the battery regularly and don't let it sit dead for a month, and you shouldn't need to mess with it apart from changing the date and very occasionally the week (which you can do by just using pusher A and D very quickly and easily) Here's also a video guide, skip to 19 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7GuT83cc-4

HoneybadgersI can’t thank you enough Honeybadgers for your time and effort concerning this. You’re one of the good guys on the internet! 👍 However, I must have a defective watch. I watched the video you linked to and also followed your instructions. Everything went great until I got to setting the week pointer. I pushed the top button, (pusher D), and the pointer moved once and wouldn’t move again. I continued to push the top button and the DAY POINTER started changing days! Yes, I was at 6AM. I started over repeating the whole dang thing again and got the same results. Very frustrating! I’ve now just set the watch to the current day, date and time hoping those functions will at least work. Honestly, I probably would never use the moon phase anyway. It’s now just a worthless decorative part of the dial. No more moon phase watches for me! 😡 😊 Again, thanks so much for your help!

Thanks but I did it yesterday which was Tuesday. Nice looking watch though even with all it’s faults.
