IMO, "ranking" shoe brands is a pretty subjective thing once you get past the outliers. I think these are comparable to other mid-tier brands like the ones mentioned before, but it's just too hard to quantify which one has an edge on another. I think it mostly comes down to aesthetics - for instance, I like these much more than Allen Edmonds Park Avenues, because the PA has 1) a really stumpy captoe, 2) that chunky 360 welt, 3) a less curvy shape, and 4) a sole that isn't channeled. Both will probably last the same amount of time, but to me these are much more enjoyable to wear. Just my $0.02.
