Does it not work because it's not connected well enough? If you have an open bottom case it should work fine, seems odd...
Mine works great, but I'm using it to dock an iPad Air without a case.

bigsid05The dock works without a case. It is when you have a case that you get the problem - the connector isn't long enough to actually make a connection.
