Any reviews of this knife I've seen online say the blade is 8cr13mov steel, but the knife I received today is 3cr13 steel which is a softer/cheaper steel and won't hold an edge as well. Interesting that the same knife would have two different blade materials? Was this a cheaper version produced specifically for massdrop to keep the cost lower?
Edit: The description lists 8cr13mov steel as the blade material....what gives??
Edit again: I did some googling and apparently Walmart sold an EMT Funxion with the cheaper 3cr13 blade, which is what I received (the blade says 8100WM, and China 3Cr13). The blade photographed in the description for the Massdrop shows 8100, not 8100WM. The description lists that we were supposed to receive the 8cr13mov steel....This is my first Massdrop purchase and may be my last. Why the bait and switch?

JOSV650SIt might not be mass drops fault they could have been sent walmart knives instead of what they ordered.
Edit: I just sent a support ticket regarding what you posted I suggest doing the same they might get you a new one or refund your money.

ForrestJohnsonThanks I'll do the same. Although the terms say:
"Product and Service Descriptions Massdrop attempts to provide accurate descriptions of products and services on the Massdrop Sites. Massdrop does not guarantee, however, that the descriptions are accurate, complete, reliable, current or error-free. If a product or service offered on the Massdrop Sites is not as described, your sole remedy is to return the item."
I assume that means they don't care if the product isn't as described. Most likely they would want us to return it at our cost, and then offer a refund?

JOSV650SI would read that as they try to get an accurate description but sometimes things happen that are beyond there control.

We are surprised you received a different variant of the Kershaw Funxion. That's certainly not the correct one that you should receive. We are investigating into this right now with Kershaw to identify how this happened.
In the meantime, please submit a support ticket, and we'll make it right for you!

JOSV650SThe funxion I purchased earllier this year on line though a different color was marked China 8cr13 so I would guess this may be a bait and switch or maybe the buyers were not even paying that much attention to the specifiations of the knife they were ordering. Generally people buying $20 dollar knives arent as concerned about the type of steel and the massdrop buyers may just not be sophisticated enough to notice.
