Pretty sure there are two versions of the Pro Media 2.1 - the old, original set, and the newer one where Klipsch switched the OEM. Apparently the older ones are MUCH better, and is where their stellar reputation comes from. The newer ones are cheaper and worse sounding according to reviews.
I'm not saying that they're a bad deal at $119.99 even if they're not as good as the original set, but just take those testimonials where people owned them for 5-10 years with a grain of salt because they probably own the original version and will not be representative of what you'll get.

DoctorXAudiovox bought Klipsch in 2011 so the potential lower quality may have been a result of this buyout. I do not recall Audiovox making products of any significant quality. :-/
