I'm a tall side sleeper using quilts and this thing was worth it at full price when I picked it up in June. I'll take the weight penalty as it pays off in radically improved sleep for me. Ordered one for my little (6'4") brother's xmas present as he was jealous of mine. Back sleepers should be fine with the insulated static v-lite which is very nice too and only 19oz.
