Does anyone else have experience with this brand? The price point seems very high for a not particularly well known brand in the US for a C/C pen (or only cartridge?), with what appears to be a third-party steel nib. At this price point you are also in the ball park of a street price Pelikan M200/205, Lamy 2000, steel nib Lamy Studio, or some savings for almost any TWSBI or a Pilot Prera and if you are willing to take the risk of a gray market importer (which you probably are if you are on Mass Drop) this is also in the same range as a Pilot 92 and Sailor 1911 Profit Standard or Pro Gear Slim, or for some savings for a Pilot 74 or Platinum 3376.

CAARI don't know about US, but Laban is a globally recognized brand, one of the more valued ones actually. At some point they were selected for Vatican Museum pen line.
Their design language is distinguished and, while it is a subjective thing to say, quite appealing.
I would choose this pen over Lamy Studio any day.

CAARLiving in the US I own Laban pens. Though this particular model offered by MD is not my cup of tea, I find them to be very well made and had no issues with the nibs thus far. The Scepter is my favorite and I own some models back from 1990's. As far as I know Laban does not make their own nibs, like many other pen makers out there they get them from nibs manufactures who offer the best deal at the time. Looking at the nib supplied with this fountain pen seems like Jowo.
