Further news for you folks today. We were able to get the vendor to throw in an order of LT52 Ink bottle in black for everyone affected in this drop as a token of your continued support and patience while this issue is resolved.
In regards to the shipment they are still working on getting this resolved and have let me know that their logistics manager is working to get to the bottom of this, but the holiday season has made the process much more difficult due to increased traffic. They have assured me that they will reach out early next week with more information.
I will be talking to them on a regular basis until I get this sorted for you all.
Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us on 12/3 or sooner if something comes up.

HassanSThe Short Version:
Okay. Sigh. I'm *very* disappointed in distributor but don't hold Massdrop responsible. This experience (positive and negative) will inform my future activity.
The Long Version (consider yourself warned):
In priority order:
1. Thank you for the timely, clear and honest update.
2. When I posited my "worst case scenario" I didn't think it would be the most likely scenario. Rats.
3. Massdrop, I implore you to institute additional steps to assure accurate and timely delivery when using this distributor or this distributor's contact/shipping person in the future. While I see you, Massdrop, as our advocate, this situation has become frustrating for many. I thought the company distributing for Lamy in the USA was pretty reliable. What's changed? New management? New logistics company? Person?
**Warning!** The following may be considered by some to be whiney or rant-ish:
4. I'm sticking with the drop because, at this point, it's "six-of-one" if I stay or go. I have been active in the discussion and feel I *should* see this experience to its conclusion. If I decide to cancel my drop, I'll simply forgo the pen altogether for now, save up a few more bucks and find a friend with Amazon Prime or, for the standard "street-price" get it from the Goulet Pen Company. The discount provided by Massdrop for this pen is unmatched.. A delay of a couple weeks is understandable. In retrospect, had I known the delay could be closer to a month, I would not have participated. However, based on a cursory skimming of similar drops of this item or other Lamy products, there was no reason to expect anything more than week or two off the mark.
5. The "freebie" is almost useless to me - I can't use their black ink. Turquoise or green ink might have worked. Maybe I'll be able to trade with someone else, but I seem to live in a fountain pen wasteland. I would rather no freebie and better delivery of the product.
6. **This doesn't sour me on Massdrop.** However, it does sour me on the distributor at Lamy that Massdrop is using. While I do not hold Massdrop responsible this delay, I will take future estimated reship dates with a cup of salt. Items could be early by 1-4 days or late by 1-4 weeks.
I know Massdrop is a startup, but it is not Kickstarter. For this particular drop, Massdrop is dealing with an established distributor and a manufacturer that has been producing this very popular product for decades. I know the estimated reship date is just an estimate and that reasonable flexibility on the customer's part is expected. I have been very active in this discussion because I have honest, logical questions that I believe others may share but not voice. I have intended to offer constructive suggestions where appropriate. My understanding is that, as a start-up, Massdrop appreciates thoughtful input from members of the community. I hope that I have neither criticized nor offered ideas without explaining the "why" of said comment.
** End of whiney/rant-ish section.**
I have appreciated (and given a thumbs-up) to all who have helped me better understand this process and offered thoughtful, respective and alternative opinions to my posts or the subject under discussion.
Until now, I have had the time to participate in this conversation actively. While I may continue to post *short* responses (300 characters or less), I will not write essays with my own date estimates or how I believe a business should interact with customers. Again, thank you, @Hassans, for the greatly improved and frequent, punctual updates and for advocating on our behalf.
I hope my extended posts have been helpful to Massdrop and the community. THAT has been my sole intention.
Cheers to all and, to those who celebrate this time of year, I wish you all a peaceful and healthy holiday season.
ps. Pre-edit: This post will be updated and edited to improve readability, save a little whine for myself and reduce redundancy, repeating myself and saying the same thing all over again.
