First and last time I will ever do anything with Massdrop. What a hassle to have to deal with the emails and the waiting and the excuses. Just my two cents but i'd rather pay full retail at goblet pens or amazon than have to wait till who knows when for people to get their act together.

PeppWaves03that's precisely the point.
more power to you. I will continue to use Massdrop, personally.
time and convenience have a price. if you don't want to pay that you can absorb the cost in a drop, with the risk of something like this happening.

PeppWaves03Your frustration is entirely understandable and is shared by many, I'm sure. By my count, nearly 20 people have cancelled their orders since the drop closed. Given my numerous and extended posts, some of you may be surprised to hear that I plan on continuing to use Massdrop. I will do so when:
1. I've had my eye on something (outside of my budget) for a while and Massdrop is offering it at a price within my budget.
2. I have neither need nor expectation of a swift delivery (sometimes they're faster than the estimate, other times ...), but know that Massdrop is monitoring the situation and keeping participants informed.
My confidence that Massdrop will be honest and clear with me has been largely renewed. For something like this pen, I probably should have gotten it from Amazon when I had Prime. (20/20 hindsight and all that.) Live and learn. I believe there are enough items on Massdrop offered at prices unavailable elsewhere to warrant a quick check-in once a week or so.
As I said in an earlier post, this has been a learning experience for me and I appreciate the education. Thanks to those who have helped. I have a much better understanding of how Massdrop works and how I can use these services to have the best experience *for me*.

GonzoTGreatOn the amazon note, do you think it would be better to order from amazon? I kinda don't want a pen that's been sitting in a warehouse though, and it is more money.

cca310Looks like we're getting pens that have been on a world tour, instead. ;-)
I was tempted when I had prime, it was "backed" by Amazon, looked to be from a reliable seller and cost $120. In truth, these are more "direct" from Lamy and cheaper. The price points for this pen seem to be around $105 (from Massdrop), $120-$130 (Amazon) or $160 (most other online retailers). Honestly, now that Massdrop has become much more communicative about the process and I have accepted that "estimated shipping date" can vary widely (and wildly), this is a good deal.
Hopefully we'll have good news, tonight, from @HassanS. If there's been another snag, I'll just laugh.

cca310Wouldn't a Lamy 2K bought from Amazon probably have spent more time in a warehouse?

AramchekSorry I wasn't being that clear, but that's what I meant, I was referring to Amazon about it sitting in a warehouse.

tcmtcmFunny, I didn't notice the disclaimer "time and convenience have a price." I just sort of expected that if someone isn't able to do a job or correctly fill an offer at a low price, they just would have the decency not to do it.
