Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

You'd definitely be taking a bit of a gamble. But hey, in order for there to be reviews, somebody either has to buy it, or somebody has to receive a review unit.
| Send a pair to Zeos though, and I'd jump on these in a heartbeat if he says they're good.
Annnd...you just lost a bit of credibility. Zeos' reviews aren't scientifically accurate—his content can be pretty controversial, at times. Like how he claimed the SHP9500 are "amazeballs." That's a very exaggerated claim. I do his enjoy his reviews for his personality and his love for the hobby. But I'd prefer to hear a review from someone of a bit more credibility such as Tyll of InnerFidelity.
Zeos is definitely a better source of info compared to Unbox Therapy. Zeos is an enthusiast hobbyist, and once again, I watch his videos, too. That being said, I take what he says with a grain of salt. But I've still bought certain products based on his recommendation—just not *solely* his recommendation. He's not some sort of headphone god overlord. He's a dude with ears who speaks his mind—whether or not everybody else agrees with it.
My point here is that I would not "jump on [purchasing anything] in a heartbeat" based on anything Zeos or anybody else says. I'd do my own research, find other reviews, etc. I am the master of skepticism. For example, the ATH-M50X have been exaggeratedly hyped. I've never owned a pair, and I probably never will because I'm educated on the product, and it's just not right for me. I don't buy into hype. I buy with skepticism.
When I enter any hobby, I definitely do so with skepticism. In the past, I've joined the hype train and have been disappointed. As a result, I try to avoid the hype and make my own assessments. I don't want to experience the placebo effect, after all. Zeos' videos are fun to watch, so are all the much bigger tech YouTubers who have delved into headphones. But I often am skeptical of their knowledge because I have a B.S. in Computer Science, I studied music technology and acoustic engineering, and I also have ~8 years of home audio engineering and music production under my belt. That's something a lot of these YouTubers don't have, and sometimes it shows when I catch them saying something misguiding or make exaggerative claims based on some information that they found elsewhere on the internet.
So even if we all have different backgrounds and different ears, I do think everybody should "be skeptical, but learn to listen." Use your doubt to discern the truth!
Just the way it goes. Add my opinion to the pile of opinions and try and find a consensus.
