What is the warranty situation with this drop? I see no option to purchase an extended warranty. How long does the LG warranty cover these units and from what day?

HumanavatarLG's warranty is a year, you have an option to extend it for additional year or two after you register the tv. I think it's based on the date of purchase.

PartismeeLG(and any TV warranty) is void when you buy it below MSRP or approved pricing($1696 is current for the 55inch model). That being said I've never seen them decline it, other then from the 3rd parties they list on their website as not honoring any warranty. It would be bad business otherwise. Also the warranty only covers factory defects and will normally show up in the first week of usage(I did have one customer have a board go out after about 5 months and LG replaced the board but they had to pay the tech labor). One thing to note they don't consider dead pixels as a defect unless there are more then 6 of them. The extended from LG does offer more protection from what I have heard from LG. All warranty's start on date of purchase on the receipt.

Humanavatar1 year from LG
Best Buy has 5 year warranty for about $400, which covers everything. You would only have 2 weeks after purchase to get the warranty from BB. I'm not sure if MassDrop has a warranty coverage..?
