Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Are they better than you thought, is anyone disappointed in the sound quality? Or, do you think it was a $200 no brainer?
What are are your thoughts???
You mentioned the DT880 and some other really nice cans, I own the Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro, very underated cans. I love mine.
I think that’s part of the problem, there are so many good headphones out there, it always seems to come down to; how much $$$ do you have to spend???
Currently using computer mobo (asrock x370 gaming k4) for now. 20 louder volume than front panel jack on phanteks enthoo pro case.
Since my k7xx are easier to drive and had some more burn in I think I like them better than 6xx. If you want something less dark sounding then fidelio x2 or m1060. I just got some m1060 and have not broken them in either, but the biggest thing I can say is the sounds sound 3d holographic and the soundstage is definitely better than 6xx. In counter strike with 6xx I can hear foot steps when I am hugging a wall, but with the m1060 I can hear farther and it feels like I am cheating.
All those headphone are equally good for around $200. It comes down what you prefer cause there is some slight differences. Since I have the 6xx now am going to to some A and B testing and get back later time (he4xx later :( tho). But on first impressions I would say m1060 > x2 > k7xx > 6xx.
