I purchased the Jubilee mass drop re-work, and although they aren’t as well applauded as these are I can see where they're going with this brand. And especially $20 more I have absolutely zero inclination for these at this point. Previously at 199 I was tempted but no, no more. Many better options are coming out that you should save your money for IMHO, IMHO, IMHO....because although these were a staple years ago technologies changed and unless you literally just want to be like everyone else I don’t see the worth here, or not anymore. Don’t hate, I just appreciate more modern brands and technologies than these offer with the equipment I personally have.

WILLxLOVEWhat headphones do you recommend? As far as I've seen these headphones are highly praised with basically zero bad reviews. I personally have got a pair of Meze 99 Noire and have really been enjoying them but am very curious about this pair of open back in particular. The only thing that I've heard is that these are lacking bass but with the 99 Noire they have more than enough for my needs and I wanted to get a listen to the other side of the spectrum. Thanks for any input you have!
WILLxLOVEDon't get caught up in newer is better... headphone technology has experienced only minor changes in the last 30 years. While I would assert BT is a unique case you aren't going to find a set of cans with as much growth potential as the HD650 at $220. I own 31 pairs, most of them much newer than the HD650 and trust me, these are hard to compete with for the price. Everyone's ears are different so you may not enjoy them as much as some other cans... just don't assume that something released last week will be better than something released in 2003. That's just not how it works in this hobby, this isn't video cards. Edit: Just saw you joined the DT177x drop, that is a minor evolution of a driver original released in the early 80's. My point is now validated by your purchase history.

ElectronicVices100% agree with Electronic Vices. Headphone performance is less about processing speed, and more about balancing the physics of driver mass and resistance, manufacturing tolerances, and the effect of the driver enclosure. Headphone tech vastly outlives advancements in amps and DACs. Don't get me wrong, the HD 58X is awesome, and I would often recommend it. Personal preference is important to enjoyment too, haha! But on a technical performance level, the 18 year old HD 650 (and HD 6XX) performs higher than the HD 58X. EDIT: I love that somebody named Chumba Wumba likes my post. Tubthumping anyone?

EvshrugHaven't kept tabs on them but most certainly familiar with that album... checked Wiki, apparently they were an act for 30 years (1982 to 2012).
