There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Now at this point, everyone should be thinking about the most well-know Panda, The Rolex Panda, which is actually a Daytona, and among Rolex Daytonas, the most famous of which is the Paul Newman Daytona, which was famous first, because it was Paul's, and second because it sold at auction for $17.8 million (US Dollars). Honestly I think people are making a big deal out of the China mfg. because they are familiar with EE, and EE makes all custom bags in Minnesota. So people are going into this drop with assumptions. But this is EE x Massdrop. I honestly feel that there has been NO deception on Massdrop's part. I have no reason to defend Massdrop either.
I do think that EE's own website *is* a bit misleading... since there are mentions everywhere of MN production, with a few items sewn in China, but not sure all of the off the shelf bags are accurate, since some don't say made in China. [EDIT: I made an assumption that turned out to be wrong. Per DannyMilks only the Revelation bags are sewn in China. So, my apologies to EE for what I wrote about their website being misleading. I do think some clarification on their website would prevent people like me from making those assumptions:-) ]
My two cents anyway.
I also noticed their sewn in China statement on my own, separate from this Massdrop discussion, and had erroneously assumed it was all off the shelf bags. So, my bad!
