From the pictures it appears that these only have the numbers applied to the face of the dice, without any etching or recessing. I'm a little concerned about chipping/damage to the numbers during use and eventually ending up with a missing numerals on the faces. Does anyone have experience with gemstone dice from MDG (if that is in fact the manufacturer), or could Massdrop elaborate on the process used to apply the numbers and how they're protected or expected to hold up 1, 5, or 10 years down the road?

CylvreAlthough I am very impressed with the overall construction and feel of these dice, the numbers have begun to some show wear and tear. I have been carrying all of these in my pocket for the past few days, and often keeping one in the palm of my hand. So like @Kmanks mentioned, I would suggest rolling these on a pad and to be carful when transporting them. I would also suggest rolling these individually, because my assumption is that the wear is from knocking against other dice, as well as heat and moisture from holding them. The photo below shows the D6 from my set. I hope that helps!

TrevorLWe actually supplied MassDrop with a sample of one of our first production sets. We had to replace quite a few sets from our first production, but are now on our third production. The numbers are over 3x stronger now, and we have yet to hear of any numbering issues from this production! They have been tested and have received very high reviews online.
