VirguleIts liquid repellent within reason. You can rinse it, so it wont soak up whatever is spilled.
Subjective: I wouldn't put it in a dish-washer.

ZadukAny fabric on which your hands sit for countless hours will darken with skin oils and dirt. I was thinking more machine washable as in (clothes) washing machine, not dish washer.
