Am I reading that right? 15.5 collar and 42 inch waist? I'm 5'9" 165, pretty average, and I have a 31" waist so this would be a horrible fit and probably not even able to be tailored.
camjam@camjam@mph234 Those are the garment measurements, not body measurements, so having 3-5" of allowance is pretty standard. Comparing that number to your trousers size is not an accurate way to determine fit for several reasons (the vanity size built in to pants, the fact that you don't want your shirts to be skin tight, etc). Compare it to measurements of shirts you already own - I found these numbers to be pretty similar to my other size small dress shirts.
