bhulbert11I used to have the trench oxfords and currently own the IR's. I'd say that the trench oxfords are wider than the IR's and fit at least a half size bigger. In RW IR's I am a 7 or 7.5D depending on thickness of sock... in the trench oxfords I would probably be a 8D. I'm assuming sizing between the oxfords and the boot should be similar since they are on the same last.
bhulbert11I got my first pair of these (captoe trench in burgundy) and 2 pairs of Redwings (Iron Rangers and Beckhams in the last year).. they're a different class. In some ways it's comparing apples and potatoes. The Redwings are heartier, less finesse and more grit, pretty strong construction, thick leather, chunkier. More "work-boots," as you'd expect. The Oak Streets feel a world on their own, amazing fit and construction, exceptional feel and comfort on the feet, they run less narrow in general than the RWs. Less rugged and tough-looking, but to me more versatile overall. While the OS's skew dressier, the power and support I feel walking outta my apartment in them is unparalleled. Overall they feel more exceptional, of a higher quality and caliber of craftsmanship. Truly a world-class product that I look for regular excuses to wear. Tho of course everyone's feet are different. I'm strongly considering getting my second pair. Definitely recommend to added rubber soles, well worth it if you plan to walk outside. (I found an Oak Street store before pulling the trigger on Massdrop the first time and tried them on for fit and feel.)
goldrelIf I'm generally a size 9, how would you suggest size ordering? I'm always a 9 in Vans if that helps. Thanks for any feedback. Your comment sold me
amhagen.coI wear a 9 in Converse and went 9 in Oak Streets but I wear insoles too. In redwings by comparison I think i've gone 8.5, as they size bigger. Ideal to find a store and try some on if you can.
