I'm in USA and asked about the implications of "international spec". I'm well aware of what international spec means for camera buyers in the USA, but I wanted to find out how Massdrop is facilitating repair/warranty. Besides equipment failure repair, one may not be able to get important or significant firmware updates that extend the ability of the camera. Can't say the response I got is very informative, nor am I very happy with it, because there is no warranty. Consequently, my opinion of Massdrop just took a hit. Here's the response: Hi, Camilla here with Massdrop Community Support. Thank you for reaching out to us today. I understand you'd like more information on the 'international spec' status we have listed for the Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II Mirrorless Camera. I'd be happy to provide more information.  The 'international spec' status basically means we are procuring the merchandise from an international vendor. The product will be the same as any other of its type. You can find details about this status here: Help Center It doesn't look like this camera comes with a warranty. If you notice any defects with the camera upon receipt, please reach out to us as soon as possible.  I hope this information helps! If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.  Best Regards,  Camilla For a complete list of our policies and FAQ, please visit the Help Center!

Hi Sig, I wanted to step in and clear things up because if one member has a question others most likely will as well. So, first thank you for bringing this up and giving us the opportunity to give the community the information you are asking for. With any products that do not have a manufacturers warranty clearly stated in the Description or Specs section of a drop that product will have a 30-day return policy. It is true that Olympus America Inc., the authorized US importer of Olympus Global products most likely will not offer to help with the warranty on any product not imported by them. On the other hand Olympus Global does actually provide a limited manufacturers warranty but involves having to send the camera to Japan for any warranty service needed. Not only do they do this but any firmware, software or drivers you may need during the course of ownership can easily be downloaded here, without restriction and in English. Hope this helps, Cheers! EDIT: They're many Olympus authorized service centers in the US that will gladly make a repair for a fee.
