I've never been so confused.

Are people buying this as a novelty item or are they really going to actually use it?

del316Why wouldn't they use it?

The fact that you don't have cause for useage doesn't mean it's not a great product with a wide range of applications.

Fact is more people are using mass transit and traveling further for work. Some folks work 2 jobs, "sleep" is a precious commodity and those who wish to survive learn to maximize that commodity. Does it look doofy? Yeah, kinda. If you're in a high light or fluorescent environment and need to crash, who gives a $%#&? Better to feel decent and be a functioning human being who has had some rest. "Hurr, hurr you look stupid" loses its sting when you're in exhausted zombie mode YET AGAIN.

I couldn't sleep in this sucker. Too enclosed and the sensory deprivation would make me nuttier than usual.

However, I got one whose 25 and has a few serious illnesses Dialysis 3 times a week and multiple often weeks long hospital stays in specialized units where somebody is poking around at her with full lights on half the time every couple of hours...

Sometimes she is just exhausted and 3 hours in a waiting room with this thing is 3 hours less of being dragged ragged.

I have an 84 year old grandmother with multiple cancers and a 56 year old Mom taking care of her and going through her OWN chemo. I swear to crap every medical arena in the US is lit up about 2 watts short of God's judgment room. I dunno htf nurses and doctors don't have brain leakage from the lights. This thing is perfect.

The better half contracts in Iraq as HSE. !2-16 hour workdays often ending in a befrigged bomb hole or under a bed doubling as a bunker if she is LUCKY because a butt hat wants to dump mortars on them. This sucker in a desk drawer would be well appreciated by MANY there. On top of that the flights in and around Iraq and the HOURS often spent farting around on the flight line hoping for a ride would be better spent with this. The flight time from Iraq to America is 3* left of hellacious. If you are NOT the snoring gas bag, he will seated next to you. This thing is appreciated by all on the plane in either circumstance.

I have friends and family in all services. Primarily Marine and Army. No amount of OORAH or HOORAH counters or dissipates jet lag, travel fatigue, battle fatigue or stress like sleep does. I don't care how stupid they look, when I have loved ones in stressful and hostile foreign situations and most definitely in combat situations I want them as prepared and primed as humanely possible. I expect my loved ones home in one piece damnit. WHatever it takes to get them I am 10000000% on board. Sleep is a BIG BIG boon, I want them to have as much as possible.

So yeah, I'm not using it either, I may buy 3 or 4. My hesitations are NOT usages or novelty though.
