$270 for a pair of speakers you can likely get from a number of established powered monitor companies in the US and Canada? Drop's gotta Drop.... I guess.
These are really nice, I put these 5s over any of the others I've heard from Mackie, KRK, or JBL. But it's not exactly a huge discount, these can be grabbed from everywhere else for $149 a piece. They used to sell a kit with a pair of these, an 8" subwoofer, foam ISO pads, and a volume knob, with all the cables you need for $500, that was a pretty sweet deal.
You would need something with line level out such as a DAC or an audio interface. Keep in mind that you might run into ground loop issues while using RCA.
Cheapest way to hook these up that I've seen is something like the Peavey USB-P - $50, uses XLR so you don't have to worry about ground loops.
It would probably work for your bedroom, but usually you want a larger woofer for KB / E drum speakers, especially if you want to be heard in any kind of public or louder setting.
