First thing I thought was the designer flipped through an old Todd Begg catalog, then did a paste-up montage made of bits from various of his folders. Maybe not a bad thing, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But many of Begg’s designs are too busy for my taste, as is the Kylon. Appearance aside, I don’t consider the “wavey jimping” on the spine as a feature that would improve grip. More likely it would increase discomfort. Just call it what it is: a style feature. “The waves on the spine add an aggressive, tacticool appearance, and echo the flames of the QSP logo tastefully etched just below them on the blade.” Flames? Some decisions just have to be lived with, like “well, at least it’s a fairly small tattoo”.
