Are these not copies of the American Optical Original Pilot glasses?

Francis_MacDonaldIn checking the forums it sounds like the Randolphs are built on the same (military) specs as the AOs - the parts are even interchangeable on them. Randolph currently has the military contract. I've had AOs for several years and have no complaints at all. They're heavy with glass lenses - very sturdy - and half as much as the lowest price listed above for Randolphs.
IanAnderson - I didn't mean to imply that these are copies of the AO - but both companies build to the specs as supplied by the US military so they're pretty much the same.

I_have_no_usernameThis is exactly correct. I was able to get polarized, prescription AO Pilots for less than the list price here and I've worn them for over 2 years. I think it was opticsplanet.com or something similar.

Francis_MacDonaldThese are not copies of AO glasses any more than AO is a copy of Ray Ban/Bausch & Lomb. Neither RE or AO 'invented' the aviator, but both have supplied the military with them.
