Adding/Including Memories
I lost my dad last year (2023) and have been finding ways to include keepsakes/memories in my workstation. I've dabbled here and there with doing small woodworking projects and attempted a wrist rest from a piece of oak I picked up with him from my great uncles wood shop. I milled it to fit a 60% keyboard as I hadn't decided what keyboard I would be using it on and thought that's where most of my wrist would be in contact even typing on a full keyboard. I gave it a torched/burn appearance as I really was lost in what to do. I found an old shell casing from going hunting with my dad in my hunting pack and decided to imbed it into the end of the wrist rest so it would just have a little difference and a small story behind it as well. I have other things around my workstation from family and friends, but it just feels a little more special having worked on it and adding something small that has a memory for me to it. This beats the hell out of my Lazy Boy for my last chair. Even when I am SWEATING from the today's Summer heat the leather breathes very well.
Most days I work construction / house editing, both jobs rack my back, neck and shoulders. The Lumbar works great for me, I also bought the Ferrino for the 14.5 inch lowest height, Myself being 5'11, 170lb, is a very kind height for my legs.
I play mostly FPS games and the 3D Arm rests, lumbar support and 14.5" lowest height locks me in perfectly. The neck pillow is almost a must for long work / gaming sessions, I can't imagine not having it. I didn't buy this chair for the Bucket seat design but it really helps to stretch my shoulders, arms, hell I even recline and put my arms back because the posture works great.
I would agree with the reviews saying the seat cushioning isn't that forgiving for 8hr+ days but personally I solve that with a seat pillow or stool.
I give this product a S-Rank in build quality. My only personal dislike of the chair is not a lower height to straighten your legs (maybe an additional store-page add-on product), though I understand this chair holds 265 lbs which is A LOT. Thank you!
