RMunroUnless the pivot is super tight, it seems like you should be able to drop your thumb into the notch in the scale and simply push up on the deep grove in the blade. It seems as though the grove should serve as a decent alternative to a thumb stud, especially considering how deep it has been cut. Again, the pivot action will need to be smooth and free-swinging for this to work.
stoutdogHuh! I know where the Review tab is suppose to be, but I haven't seen it in days. Do you still see it? There is nothing to the right of Discussions.
glennacWierd??? It's there on my browser on my PC and phone.
Here's my review;
I thought using the fuller would be the way this knife was opened based on the pictures. Well sort of, but not with your thumb. There just isn't enough of a bite from the Fuller to get a purchase. The detente is also very strong and only by using a pinch grip I was able to open the blade, but not all the way so this is a essentially a two handed opening knife. Opening the damn box it came in is almost as hard a opening this knife. I wear a XL glove and can get almost a 4 finger grip on the handle. Real Steel enclosed a lanyard bead which is a nice touch. The Kershaw Reverb I just received has the same blade design and I have no issues opening it. If anyone is interested in mine, just reply to this review. It's back in the box ready to ship.
stoutdogThanks for posting that.
This is what I’m seeing (or not seeing) on my end. And No, the categories don’t slide over to reveal REVIEWS. Other drops do show REVIEWS here though.
stoutdogNot a bad price for what you get.
I'll keep mine - I don't mind hard detent, especially when I go to places where people equate flipper with switchblade or gravity knife and go ape.
Actually, that's one of the reasons I went into this - it's nice to have a simple, clean looking knife that is under stated and isn't a slipjoint but which doesn't scare people because it opens fast.
stoutdogSorry I never responded. I somehow missed your post. $85 shipped if you're still interested. It has been sitting all packed up, ready to go ever since I photographed it.
