Thanks for the feedback and conversation that I am tardy replying upon between yourself and @dag.odenhall.
Yes, adding tension definitely can help. However, if the cord is longer than say 6 feet or so, the bulk of the cable will fill the bridge. We are working on an Extra Large Winder (for all our creativity that is the best we could come up with for a name), as well as 6 other cord management products that should wind everything from hair dryers to gaming consoles.
