I noticed the Sestriere midsoles appears to have a pretty dark color from the side compared to other pictures of the boot I've seen online. For instance if you compare those pictures:

Does this batch really have a particularly dark midsole or is it just lighting in Massdrop's pictures?

I think you're looking at the midsole, the Siestre is the same color in both (dark gray rubber). The leather midsole does appear to be darker than the photo you show here, which has a more natural color midsole.
