How do you get prescription lenses?

RobwiMost of the chain/mall optometrist shops like LenseCrafters etc. use computer guided CNC machines on uniform lense blanks to create prescription glasses. That's cool, because you can have your glasses in about an hour, but its working against you in this case, because those machines only have instructions to make lenses for frames that the company has in stock. You can look online to see if the chains in your area stock this frame and call to confirm. Good luck. Alternately, you can go to a local, old school optometrist, who employs an old school lense tech, who can actually do, like, math and stuff. Shop around and try to find the one who looks about 70 years old, because chances are he used to do this all the time, and hopefully he's not quite senile, or only in the evenings or something. Be prepared to pay twice as much and wait 3 weeks.
