I just received my journal and it is quiet nice. I feel the "crease" it's in the wrong spot, though. I was going to clamp it in some wood to define the crease in the proper place. Anybody have any tips on this? Should I wet the crease first? Should I just clamp the crease, or put a small dowel in the crease to help it keep a small radius?

MrPesasJust clamp down the crease. It's brand new leather with some stiffness to it, so the 'crease' may have gotten slightly out of wack during transport. The leather will also soften over time and mould to the shape of the journal being used inside it. If you want to accelerate the softening of the leather, you can also apply a leather oil to it.

SatchelandPageMine arrived (small Travel size) and I'm loving the quality and the workmanship. The burnished edges, the thread, the stitching, the waxing. But I have one complaint. What good is a pen holder if it's too small to fit any pen. Yep, it's seriously too small for anything. Hope you can make it fatter next time and test em with most pens. Or an option without the pen holder for backpocket carryers.

StrummJust tried a few different pens - yep the pen loop is far too small and a serious design flaw. Useless for anything thicker than a bic ballpoint. And you can completely forget about getting a fountain pen in the loop. Gone from a 8/10 to 4/10 and could not recommend this product for any future drops unless this is fixed.

StrummThanks for your feedback. Glad you appreciate the workmanship and quality that went into the design. Regarding the pen loop - We designed this to be carried in the front pocket, so wanted to keep the pen holder somewhat sleek so it didn't interfere with grabbing and storing it in the front pocket. But the result is that the pen holder will not fit thicker pens, although it will stretch some over time. We will revisit this for the next drop and come up with a solution to accommodate larger pens.

SatchelandPageYep, I hear yah. A fatter pen loop would be slightly bulky but I think one which nothing fits kinda defeats the purpose of having one.

StrummI can't agree more!
Leather quality is great, loop fits pencil very well. But my Fountain pen (One of the thinnest pen from LAMY), Ballpointpens and mechanical pencils don't fit at all Some of these are able to insert, too hard to separate.
Any way leather is great
