I bought mine during the Kickstarter campaign. The pen scratches a lot, the threads get damaged easily, it rolls on the table, and doesn't feel good in the hand. In my opinion, it was not worth the $30 I paid for it then, and certainly not the $48.99 they’re asking now.
N2505@N2505 Sorry to hear you are disappointed. Most users like the way the pen wears in overtime, and the patina depends on how you carry it. I carry mine with my keys and think the finish looks even better after a bunch of months. As for the threads, send it back if they are damaged and I will repair them for you free of charge. Surprised I never got an email from you before now! Please reach out if you are disappointed with your pen.
Sure its an expensive piece, but its manufactured locally in America in small batches... hard to match that for the price especially in the quantities that I made these in. You can get cheap pens everywhere or stuff manufactured overseas for a quarter of the price... I cant beat that, but I will continue to offer this unique pen and will not compromise on manufacturing quality or where I make my products to hit a lower price point.
I am making a clip for this pen, but have had some struggles in manufacturing the design that I have created. Sure I could have put a sheet metal one on it, but didnt quite feel it was the right solution. Expect to see a pen clip add on by December this year. It will work with all the pens I have sold. The new clip is really neat and I think its the right solution. Cant wait to launch it!

SchonDSGNCan we also get the Brass/Titanium vers.? I would be down for that!
Pantsu_Bear@Pantsu_Bear Ti and brass if this drop is a success! The black coating is hard mil spec black anodized. The pen only accept fisher cartridges since this keeps it super compact... maybe in the future ill do a parker one... I like that the fisher cartridges are made in the usa so i support them exclusively right now -Ian

SchonDSGNTo clarify my opinion stated above, I do not like the pen, but that is my personal opinion. The use of aluminum for an EDC pen, with threads on the outside, would not have been my first choice. I love a good patina, especially on brass, steel and titanium, but this blank aluminum does not age well in my opinion. After carrying it for a few weeks with my keys, I dropped it and damaged the threads on the back. The reason I didn’t contact you is because I damaged it myself, (this damage is thus not covered by warranty) and that I could easily fix it myself using a fine file.
But there are a lot of things to like about this design, it looks good (the brass or Ti version), it’s small and uses a fisher cartridge (not my preference, but that’s not a deal breaker for me).
Right now I’m using the Maxmadco bolt-action pen and I love it. The Shon DSGN pen got a spot in my EDC bag.
