Mine gift for 50 years father's birthday has a huge alignment!! None of my automatic watches has such a defect (Victorinox and Aevig Valkyr that I just bought from you). Please advise??
nisan-3Honestly either you give it to a trusted horologist or an experienced repairman, or you send it back for replacement. I wouldn't accept this on a timepiece. A spec of dust sure. A small scratch on a caseback yeah probably. Misaligned hands? Nope.
nisan-3As you can see on the previous page, we discussed this with @Shazb0t via CS ticket and this misalignment is not a defect at all. This is very common for mechanical watches. I was able to reproduce a misalignment on several Seikos including 6R15, 4R36, 7S36 movements. I was also able to do it on a Tissot, which uses a Swiss Made ETA 2824-2 (base movement.)
On some of these watches, when I advance the watch forward 12 hours, it might be aligned differently. For example, if you let the watch run naturally with the crown pushed in, you might get a different result.
