Yeah, and there are several other pricing discrepancies too.

Cyclone336Yeah, Massdrop need to sort this out before I put my money down. Especially since the last time I bought SKX K versions, they were only $180 four months ago.
A lot changes in four months. Prices of the skx have been shooting up fast lately. Rumor has it, they are being discontinued. A year ago, I could get the k models for $150-$160.

RexfordYes, I get that. But there are still a TON of them in the supply chain.
There might be many in the supply chain, but it is now a finite amount. That usually causes price increase for any item. I keep seeing more and more rumor about it being discontinued along with the 7s26 movement. Unless they replace it with something pretty much the same, but with a newer/better movement, the price should steadily increase. Again, there may be a "ton" in the supply chain, but eventually those will be exhausted. Scarcity (or even the thought of it) causes interesting reactions in the world.
On the other hand, I see new SARB033 and SARB035's for $315 delivered in Japan right now even after being discontinued for a while. Might need to get one of those to celebrate the start of the Reiwa Era tomorrow. Wait...it is 12:24 AM on 1 May...IT IS REIWA YEAR 1 RIGHT NOW! PARTY TIME!

RexfordFrom what I understand, the SKX will gain a 4R36 but lose it’s ISO diver certification and move into the Seiko 5 Sports category with only 100 meters of water resistance. No screw down crown, but will “gain” a display case back, if that’s important to anyone, and will have more color ways. In my mind, it’s a big step down. Seems to me, they’re making the whole Prospex line upscale. The SKX could stay just as it is as an “entry level” diver. But what do I know? Sure I’ve modded several of my SKXs to hacking and hand winding movements with an NH36, but frankly, it’s just adding a couple features that for the most part I can do without. The SKX will be reduced to Sea Urchin status. Too bad.
Care to share a link for SARBs at $315 delivered?
moving it to the seiko5 line and taking away the screwdown crown is not a replacement to me.
Japan amazon...but I checked and it already went back up to over $400. Part of me was hoping it would go back up so I wouldn't buy it. Don't need more watches.

RexfordAgreed. Making the SKX a Seiko 5 means I won’t buy it. Unless I can replace the crown tube and the case back and dial. Hate that “5” badge. I have a SARB033. Bought it before it was discontinued. Wouldn’t mind having a spare I like it so much.
RexfordNever was a huge fan of the Monster but I kinda like the black PVD bezel as it makes it seem a bit smaller. They should've left the more aggressive indices - they tamed it like a Gen 1. And curved end links, oh my.
I wound up picking up two more SKXs in this drop for mod duty. Figured I might as well get them while I still can before Seiko ruins them.
Thanks for sharing and I wish you luck in all your horological endeavors as well. Maybe see ya at the next Seiko drop. Cheers.
