I have sent all of your comments to the manufacturer and have been in back and forth communication with them throughout this week. They have shed some light into what occurred during the week of Black Friday. None of the limited deals that you have seen were direct with Simple Audio and they had no idea that they were even scheduled.
Based on what we have been told, NCIX and NCIXUS saw our listing and decided that the Simple Audio Listen would be an awesome doorbuster to get the attention of people interested in quality audio products. In reality, there were an incredibly limited number of speakers available because they had to purchase them from a third party and I've been informed that the lowest price displayed in our comments only had 10 units available.
Massdrop serves to allow the community to interact directly with the manufacturer in a private setting and offer the best price to the entire community and not a limited subset of users. We do not artificially limit drops or run quantity limited doorbusters with the goal of drawing users to our website because this is not in the best interest of the community. However, neither we nor Simple Audio have any control over what other stores on the internet might do and other retailers are always free to run low unit availability loss leaders that then offer shockingly low pricing to a few lucky participants (a common tactic during Black Friday). In contrast, we and Simple Audio set up a compelling listing at an incredible value that was offered without quantity limits which allowed a large number of Massdrop members (300 people) to participate.

We appreciate your understanding and support and we are always working closely with our vendors to offer the best we can to all our members. Simple Audio has been extremely impressed with the response that you have shown as a community and we look to continue working with vendors like them to offer more high quality products in listings that offer a great value to the entire community and not a limited subset.

AndrewLekashmanThank you so much for addressing this head on. What your saying makes total sense, and it is not fair to ask you to price match something another retailer offers when 1) your not a retailer and 2) you never promised any sort of price matching.

AndrewLekashmanWhile this is all well and good it doesn't explain the sale on Corsair's own site. Corsair controls this because they own simple audio, it cannot be palmed off as the efforts of a different retailer.

BurritoJusticesounds like a question that should be directed at Corsair, not Massdrop. It's quite possible someone is lying, but it doesn't necessarily mean it is Massdrop.

xerowunYou're right, I myself was posing it as a question for Corsair that I believe Massdrop should ask on our behalf.
At this stage I'm undecided whether I'll cancel my order or not, I thought I was getting more of an exclusive deal than I feel like I am, and that is making the expensive shipping and wait time a hard pill to swallow.
