For what it is: ultra light, ultra quick & ultra compact protection from the elements, it's good. Just know that it does tend to seriously build up moisture and you'll have to deal with that when you get out after using it. Still, it's better than nothing and the really small form factor let's me carry one in my edc or day hike bag.

JCruz907Do not buy this for cold weather. These bivvies cause you to sweat and collect moisture to the point that your sleeping bag/clothes are wet. I tried one about 2yrs ago, my trip ended after the first night as my gear was wet. It ended up in the garbage where they all should be. Anything that has the shiny reflectix does not breath. Junk junk junk my 2 cents. Another company employee?

ShawnRufusI'm not an employee or in any way connected to massdrop or the manufacturer other than being a customer. I paid full boat (and docking fees ;) for my bivvy and no reason to lie. I used it in freezing temps (24 farenheit) for several nights without issue. The only serious moisture in the bivvy was directly around my face which was due to the moisture from my breath. I used heavy-weight polypropylene long johns, Froggtogg pants, seriously fluffy ugly Christmas socks/slippers, light weight gloves, a watch cap and an ultralight bubble down jacket to sleep in. I used an Enlightened Equipment 800 down filled bag/blanket and had a liter bottle of hot water between my legs. I slept on top of a simple foam pad and had my pack under my feet. This set up was in a tarp set up as a low, open lean-to with the open end facing a fire that was 3-4 yards away and burned out halfway through the night. In the morning, there was minor moisture on the outside of the bag/blanket/inside of bivvy which was easily wiped off with a small chamoise and a good amount of frost on the outside of the bivvy, but that was it. I was otherwise toasty, dry and comfortable. True story. I don't know what kind of set up you had and maybe it was junk for you, but it worked just fine for me.
