There are so many things wrong with this backpack from what I can see. I don't actually have the backpack and this comment is just entirely based on pictures and a couple reviews/videos.
Just the thought of having a backpack made almost entirely of plastic assembled in this fashion sounds inconvenient, uncomfortable and... noisy. I mean, picture yourself trying to put this bag away on a train, bus or plane because I can't imagine this will be able to fit anywhere nicely since it looks rigid and inflexible. See, on a regular fabric bag the exterior's shape should conform to the contents of the bag to a certain extent and since this is plastic there is none of that. Then there's the plastic itself, I mean if anything bumps into it it'll just be clunk... clunk.. clunk.. right? After a while that may get annoying. Also I think the foam padding is only on the base of the backpack so the walls of the interior is just plastic so if things are moving around inside the bag things might get noisy. I'm thinking of small objects like pens. I also get the impression that this bag may scratch easily from bumping into things over time.
However it does look like there are quite a few nice little compartments inside that aren't shown in the Massdrop photos so that's a plus. With a rigid body you need compartments to store your things so they'll stop rattling and moving about. Looks pretty easy to clean too.
I still can't believe this is dropping when I first saw that poll. I suppose if there're over 1500 votes on this bag alone then it should have some sort of demand.
