backman8571but it's lower than any major retailer that is selling this product:
Currently it is priced at $3198 across Adorama, Amazon, and B&H Photo. Best Buy still prices it at $3299.
idarerickIt's not the US version though. It's a grey market imported international model. So no direct warranty from Sony. The same model has been selling on eBay for about $2500. This is Sony's top of the line meant for the high end professional market. I don't mind seeing it here but I rather see the US market camera or a much better deal.
idarerickIt's cheaper than the retail version but this isn't the retail version. It's the grey market (aka international) version which typically sell for $2,500. Because of the earthquake in Japan back in April it's causing limited supply chain lately as Sony's sensor factory was structurally effected by it - Google it. The only difference being no US warranty, and choosing NTSC video format will alert you every time the camera wakes up or turns on if you're ok with this setting (as it assumes being int'l you may want PAL). Buy only if you need and can't buy elsewhere. It's not a Massdrop deal but a Massdrop access to one.
Franky@Franky,
Thank you for your participation but Massdrop has never had the A7RII for $2500. It seems you are not to impressed with the price and point taken.
All of that aside what kind of camera are you shooting with?
Cheers!
JaysunI have both A6300 paid 995 and the A7R mk2 paid 2749, both fantastic cameras, the A7R mk2 I use in studio and the A6300 for everything superfast focus, and the A7R with adapter is fabulous with some old Minolta style lenses
JaysunI'm impressed Massdrop has access to the a7Rii so don't take my comments to be negative. It's out of stock everywhere so having a supplier is kudos to you guys for securing these amazing cameras. I'm only informing others of the differences between an international version vs retail version for those who are doing price comparisons. Massdrop had the a7rii (international version) here before, as it was offered when the camera was first launched at a great deal at the time for a newly launched camera. I may have stated a slightly lower price however. I'm shooting with the Sony NEX-7 and looking to jump into full frame market and almost pulled the trigger here on Massdrop originally but needed to save up a bit more so I'm very price aware of Sony's offerings and learning about the int'l/grey market cameras vs retail.
backman8571Yeah, I'm thinking of grabbing an A6XXX for the fast autofocus. Nice being able to use the same lenses. I can also stick a camera on the wife while travelling (probably a tiny package of A6XXX and the 50/1.8).

I could be wrong but I think you are mistaking the A7RII for the A7R at that price point.
