If this isn't straight from spyderco and from another vendor, can authenticity be confirmed?
There have been reports of fake karahawks being produced and sold online.
I think some of the major points are skeletonized liners, actually weighing in at 3.8 oz, and recessed screws(?)

kinexThere are fakes out there, I compared a hawk straight from Spyderco to a $30 version from dhgate that a friend picked up. The differences are subtle; the fake is slightly heavier, the screws on the genuine article are slightly recessed into the scales. Materials feel identical, text is identical, quality on the fake is surprisingly good. I would have had a hard time picking the fake in a blind test.
