Right side tip down carry only? What was spyderco thinking?!?! Otherwise sweet blade.
Yea, that is a real head-scratcher. I briefly owned the smaller version of this knife and it was wonderful. Can't remember why I sold it, but it could not have been a good reason.
It's a compromise between customization and weight. The military doesn't have a metal liner like the para2, it's basically g10 only with the exception of the pivot area (where the clip is) and the inset "liner" lock. Allowing for people to change their clips to g10 only sections of the knife would be irresponsible - imagine all the broken handle Millies being returned if they allowed it.
That makes sense. Didn't know there were no liners.
They were probably thinking that you'd be carrying a knife this big and called the "Military" on a tactical rig of some sort, or at least somewhere other than clipped inside your dominant-hand pants pocket. I know that it would definitely monopolize that entire space for me, and I guess I'm a pretty average-sized guy.
