Not really a deal. I can get it everywhere for the same price and the shipping will be immediate, none of this wait a month till MD gets it and ships it the slowest method possible - ie DHL. Who the hell uses DHL?!?! MD in general has lost its loving feeling and no longer has deals!

KetelOneTo be fair, MD can't really do a lower price on Spyderco knives, or any other company that does MAP-style pricing. $167 is the lowest price under Spyderco's MAP policy(see BladeHQ , GPKnives, etc), and unless you buy it in-person, you're at least saving here on shipping, and you get a free case, which you can delete for another $15 savings. So if you have to pay shipping somewhere else, you could be saving $20-25 on this, or a minimum of $15. Or you can get it for the exact same price as elsewhere, and generally speaking free shipping elsewhere isn't going to be much faster if at all. MD's model isn't to stock these, and take a risk on buying a certain number and maybe not selling them all. The model really works better with other products, or knives from other companies especially the higher-end knives.

KetelOneMany vendors we work with feel this way, but not all. Spyderco's MAP policy is new and, for the time being, is applied to all authorized dealers. The model of giving a gift with purchase of the case, which you can decline at checkout for a credit of $15, is the the only means of being able to make this available on Massdrop and offer any kind of added value to the community.
