If you are in the market for your first Sage (and plan to purchase just a single Sage), you owe it to yourself to find a venue where you can handle the various models. I wish I had.
I liked this Sage so much, I bought a second one. But after I received my titanium Sage 2, I wished I had bought two of those instead.
It's a matter of preference, so no diss on the Sage 1. It's just that to me the handle on the Sage 2 feels noticeably more sculpted and contoured. It just feels much nicer to hold and use, IMO. In comparison, the Sage 1 feels flat and slabby. Not as comfortable.
My opinion, of course. But I do recommend handling these knives just to get a sense of what feels better to you.
Having said that, I do still feel the Sage 1 is a fantastic knife, and well worth the lowest drop price. Nice knife.
