I have never in my life thought of buying a flashlight like this, but I'm interested now. Between this and the Nitecore, what would be the difference?

KailecFrom what I've read the D40A and the Nitecore SRT7 have comparable power / output and use the same LED assembly for the main light.

The SRT7 has a couple of advantages. RGB LED's on top of the white. Better control interface (IMO). Can sustain max power for longer periods of time.

The D40A has a somewhat more compact form factor and runs on AA batteries (whereas the SRT7 seems to require something a bit fancier). It'll also be 25$ cheaper (assuming they both reach 20 buyers).

Both have fantastic reviews online and, I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Here's an hour long review of the SRT7 by a flashlight aficionado:

Here's a review for the D40A: http://www.britishblades.com/forums/showthread.php?168312-Sunwayman-D40A-torch-review-4xAA-with-XML-L2-LED-Nitecore-EA4-beater

--
