I prefer neutral white because it allows the real colors of the object you're illuminating to show up. Cool white has a more blue tint to it, it discolors the object a tiny bit. Not a big deal but I prefer neutral white, I own lights of both so it's not a life changer but when the decision is given I choose neutral.

Spencer_BThanks, neutral white will be my choice if I go with the D49A. Trying to decide between this and the Nitecore SRT7 now.

BarryI went with natural as well because of the colors, but I think the trade off is slightly smaller range vs cool white version. Was also considering nitecore but went with d40 because of batteries and form factor
